The Zelliges-Mosaics project proposes a 32-piece geometric game inspired by Andr\u00e9 Paccard’s work on Islamic architectural craftsmanship, freely combinable to explore balance, design, and creativity through sustainable new materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ENG<\/strong>
ZELLIGE is a game made up of volumetric pieces inspired by Andr\u00e9 Paccard’s work on traditional Islamic craftsmanship in architecture. Its geometric figures have names in DARIJA that relate the shape to the object it represents. “Chouke” means thorn, “qandil nejjari” is a star-shaped lamp, “difra” is braid, and “qtib ‘amel” heart. ZELLIGE is also defined as a small polished stone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recalling Bruno Munari and using the idea of play as the main design concept, the mosaic pieces are transformed by a change in SCALE, TEXTURE, COLOR, and FUNCTION. These changes allow for rethinking their forms and exploring new combinations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the structure of traditional mosaics, there is an external and an internal face; a VISIBLE and a HIDDEN face. Through the combination of crystallography, symmetrical and asymmetrical forms, and the use of repetition; the geometry of the pieces transcends the flat and static dimension. They integrate the polished face of the original form with the other faces that make up the body of the piece. They are transformed into dynamic volumes that allow for free construction in space, reflecting a moment of EQUILIBRIUM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The application of CNC technology to low- and high-density rigid polyurethane sheets achieve the transfer of the volume of the piece, previously designed in 3D. The materialization of the final shape with the resin and recycled fibers is done by pouring the material into the open mold produced by the CNC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

OPTIO-ELECTIO: By increasing, reducing, removing, or changing the proportions, with the resin and its components, with the fibers and the different granulometries, or with the pigment color, an inexhaustible combination of results is obtained. Textures, colors, intensity, transparency or opacity, polished or rough surfaces, allow the pieces to be combined or distinguished either individually or within the series as a whole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The YouRban project investigates the use of new materials, adapting FIBER REINFORCED POLYMERS (FRP) to new technologies, creating a sustainable design within a CIRCULAR system, and promoting the use and reuse of materials. Small stones that reveal history and tradition, technology and design; in a past and present in constant transformation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ZELLIGE \u00e9s un joc format per peces volum\u00e8triques inspirat en el treball d\u2019Andr\u00e9 Paccard sobre l’artesania tradicional isl\u00e0mica en l’arquitectura. Les seves figures geom\u00e8triques porten en DARIJA un nom que relaciona la forma amb l’objecte que representa. “Chouke” significa espina, “qandil nejjari” \u00e9s llum en forma d’estrella, “difra” \u00e9s trena i “qtib ‘amel” cor. ZELLIGE es defineix tamb\u00e9 com a petita pedra polida.

Recordant a Bruno Munari i prenent el joc com a concepte principal de disseny, les peces de mosaic es transformen amb un canvi d’ESCALA, de TEXTURA, de COLOR i de FUNCI\u00d3. Canvis que permeten repensar les seves formes i explorar noves combinacions.

En l’estructura dels mosaics tradicionals, hi ha una cara externa i una altra interna; una cara visible i una altra oculta. Amb la combinaci\u00f3 de la cristal\u00b7lografia, les formes sim\u00e8triques i asim\u00e8triques, i utilitzant la repetici\u00f3; la geometria de les peces abandona la dimensi\u00f3 plana i est\u00e0tica. Componen la cara polida de la forma original amb les altres cares que formen el cos de la pe\u00e7a. Es transformen en volums en moviment que permeten una construcci\u00f3 lliure en l’espai, reflectint un instant d’EQUILIBRI.

L’aplicaci\u00f3 de la tecnologia de la CNC a les plaques de poliuret\u00e0 r\u00edgid de baixa i alta densitat aconsegueix traslladar el volum de la pe\u00e7a dissenyada pr\u00e8viament en 3D. La materialitzaci\u00f3 de la forma final amb la resina i les fibres reciclades es realitza abocant el material al motlle obert produ\u00eft per la CNC.

OPTIO – ELECTIO: En augmentar, reduir, treure o canviar les proporcions, amb la resina i els seus components, amb les fibres i les diferents granulometries, o amb el color del pigment, s’obt\u00e9 una inesgotable combinaci\u00f3 de resultats. Les textures, colors, intensitat, transpar\u00e8ncia o opacitat, plans polits o aspres, permeten combinar o diferenciar les peces individualment o en el conjunt de la s\u00e8rie.

El projecte YouRban investiga la utilitzaci\u00f3 de nous materials, adaptant les FIBRES DE POL\u00cdMERS REFOR\u00c7ATS (FRP) en les noves tecnologies, creant un disseny sostenible en un sistema CIRCULAR, promovent l’\u00fas i la reutilitzaci\u00f3 dels materials. Petites pedres que revelen la hist\u00f2ria i la tradici\u00f3, la tecnologia i el disseny; en un passat i present en constant transformaci\u00f3.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

La materializaci\u00f3n de la forma final con la resina y las fibras recicladas se realiza volcando el material al molde abierto producido por la CNC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

OPTIO – ELECTIO: Al aumentar, reducir, quitar o cambiar las proporciones, con la resina y sus componentes, con las fibras y las distintas granulometr\u00edas, o con el color del pigmento, se obtiene una inagotable combinaci\u00f3n de resultados.
