Welcome to YouRban \u2014 a European platform where design, sustainability, and urban innovation come together. Our open calls for Milan or Barcelona invite artists, designers, and creative thinkers to explore new ways of recycling and upcycling reinforced polymers while shaping more inclusive and circular cities. Whether you’re responding to a local challenge or developing your own solution, YouRban offers funding, mentorship, and a space to bring your ideas into action.

Open Call 1: for Artists, Citizens & Designers <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Status: Closed<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The YouRban Open Call 1 offers two residency formats: in Milan<\/strong>, the participating professionals from the creative and design sectors tackle predefined urban challenges<\/strong> by creating site-specific, practical designs<\/strong> using recycled FRP materials<\/strong>; in Barcelona<\/strong>, creators bring their own independent ideas<\/strong>, developing experimental artistic or functional concepts<\/strong> that identify their urban problem during the process, with an emphasis on recyclable materials<\/strong> but no site-specific requirements<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Open Call 2: for Urban Factories<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Status: Closed<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second YouRban open call invited European Le Urban Factories<\/strong>\u2014such as FabLabs, MSMEs, and laboratories\u2014to support creators in the Milan and Barcelona residencies by providing technical expertise, facilities, and production capabilities<\/strong>. Selected partners were tasked with hosting and mentoring eight creators<\/strong>, leading training and co\u2011creation activities<\/strong>, upgrading their spaces<\/strong> for reinforced polymer reprocessing, participating in public events<\/strong>, and collaborating with the YouRban mobile plant<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Open Call 3:
for Event Organizers and Performers’ Managers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Status: Closed<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Focusing on the results obtained from Open Call 1 and Open Call 2 winners, Open Call 3’s aim is to find European performers\u2019 managers able to organize and valorise the Barcelona 10-day event (end of April 2026) <\/strong>by means of artistic performances able to engage the audience, improving the project outreach, and showcasing the YouRban technologies and artifacts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
