Introducing Open Call Winners for Milan and Barcelona

YouRban invited creative professionals to apply for the Open Calls for Milan or Barcelona to explore the necessity and potential of reprocessing and upcycling glass-fiber-reinforced polymers (GFRP) to achieve a circular economy in Europe and shape more inclusive cities.

The Open Call 1 winners for Milan collaborate with the FabLab WeMake srl on their projects to develop innovative and sustainable solutions addressing specific, predefined urban challenges like eco-friendly mobility or revitalizing public squares. The aim is to createpractical, site-specific solutions using sustainable materials, especially reprocessed GFRPs.

Open Call 1 winners for Barcelona are collaborating with the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IAAC) to develop their innovative and sustainable urban solutions. Their projects explore original concepts and experimental approaches, identifying urban challenges through the design process and using reprocessed GFRPs.

In Spring 2026, the winners present their results in Barcelona during the YouRban Festival.
