YouRban is building a new kind of urban ecosystem — one that turns local waste into new value.
By focusing on upcycling materials such as reinforced polymers, the project brings together citizens, designers, artists, architects, small producers, and Urban Factories. Through collaborative design and production, YouRban shapes sustainable solutions aligned with the New European Bauhaus and the European Green Deal.
Funded by the European Union, YouRban promotes an urban, circular, and creative future by reprocessing composites.
The first YouRban Conference took place in Milan on 2 October 2025, bringing together leading voices in design, culture, education, research and sustainability, including:
- Antonio Bertolotti – Educational Coordinator, Scuola Secondaria di I Grado Leone XIII, Milano
- Fulvia Violetta Ramogida – Expert in PR & Communication for territorial projects
- Giorgio Caporaso – Vice President, ADI Lombardia; Architect and Sustainable Design Expert
- Marcello Colledani – YouRban Coordinator and Professor, Politecnico di Milano
- Matteo Origoni – Architect, Studio Origoni Steiner; Professor, Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera and Torino
- Tullio Tolio – President, Scientific Committee of AFIL (Associazione Fabbrica Intelligente Lombardia); Professor, Politecnico di Milano
- Valentina Picariello – Co-founder and Co-director, ZONA K, il centro di arti performative contemporanee di Milano
Together, we explored how collaborative design, local manufacturing, and material innovation can shape more resilient urban spaces.
