Dello Stesso Cielo

A simplification of the tree’s compositional lines, while fully preserving its formal, symbolic, and functional principles.

Of the Same Sky is an art installation conceived as a symbolic urban device that connects aesthetic experience, environmental responsibility, and social participation. Developed by Gabriella Cominotti within the European YouRban program, the project explores how materials and symbols tied to industrial production can be transformed into tools for dialogue and community building

The installation takes the form of a tree-like structure—an archetype of growth and connection—rooted in the artist’s background in stained glass. Originally linked to a religious commission, this language is reinterpreted in the public realm as an accessible and shared visual experience, inviting collective reflection.

The project integrates glass, metal, and recycled fiber-reinforced polymers (rFRP), combining technical performance with symbolic meaning. Industrial and discarded materials are reimagined as elements of regeneration, expressing a broader idea of transformation in which matter—and its meaning—can change over time.

Conceived as an open cultural hub, the installation hosts gatherings and shared experiences while fostering awareness of environmental cycles through elements like rainwater collection. Through its multidisciplinary and experimental design process, Of the Same Sky proposes a form of urban intervention where art and design encourage connection, contemplation, and new forms of collective engagement.
